We’ve got each other’s backs and celebrate our strength in diversity.
HTEC fundamentals
HTEC is a professional playground for everyone to grow and pursue their ambition, fueled by a culture of support, solidarity, and togetherness that extends beyond the office walls and into our communities.
Purpose
We empower brilliant minds to engineer a better future.
Vision
A future where we drive technology trends that improve lives and shape the businesses of tomorrow.
Mission
Our entrepreneurial team works with the boldest companies on the planet. We don’t just solve complex challenges. We create opportunities by pushing the boundaries of technology. At HTEC, we turn the implausible into the everyday.
Sometimes what we choose not to do defines us as much as what we do. We are persistently saying NO to engagements that may have a negative effect on the world around us. We want our people to be proud when they tell their children, parents, and friends, about the work they do and the positive impact it makes.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at HTEC
We believe it’s crucial to foster an environment where every individual, regardless of background, feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best work. Here is what it means in practice:
Freedom of religious expression: Most HTEC employees come from the Southeast Europe region, a part of the world with religious and ethnic diversity that we honor in our organizational structure. This includese organizing the workload in such a way as to enable each of our team members to use additional paid leave days (on top of their vacation) for religious holidays of their choice. In addition, our offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina have dedicated prayer rooms as safe spaces for everyone who wishes to practice their faith.
Supporting employees with disabilities: Our office premises are fully accessible for people with disabilities (including at least one accessible office space location in each city where HTEC is present). We also support colleagues with disabilities achieving great results outside the workplace. We’re particularly proud to have contributed to the success our colleagues achieved in the Deaflympic and Paralympic Games.
Reducing the gender pay gap:
Reducing the gender pay gap: At HTEC, the female-to-male earnings ratio for the same job position is 95.6%. In comparison, U.S. Census data from 2021 shows that in the U.S., women software engineers earn 89.7% of what men engineers do, and across all occupations, women in the U.S. earn 81.5% of men’s earnings on average. Although HTEC’s statistics are considerably better that the industry standard, we are strongly committed to eliminating the gap completely.
HTEC cares
Acting global. Supporting local. From day one, HTEC chose to work exclusively with local partners and vendors and has always found ways to engage and empower local communities and initiatives. We believe in being open-minded, giving back, growing as a community, and supporting the under-resourced. As a community and as individuals, we believe that no contribution is too small – especially if it means engaging those around us to join us in creating a positive impact.
HTEC supports initiatives across three pillars: education, ethical responsibility, and environment and sustainability.
HTEC cares about education
Every child is entitled to the best possible education. Unfortunately, due to economic, geographic, and social and cultural factors, this is not always the case. At HTEC, our goal is to help improve the quality of education in local communities through various STEM initiatives. We support local educational fundraisers, organize workshops and office visits that give students access to practical knowledge, and lead initiatives to support female students pursuing STEM careers.
HTEC cares about ethical responsibility
Acting with empathy and support is one of HTEC’s core values. Our ethical responsibility pillar is based on underlying principles of equality, inclusivity, and respect. This includes donating to worthy causes that support vulnerable groups, working with clients whose values match our own, organizing internal fundraising campaigns to support medical treatments for our employees’ loved ones, and building a strong anti-discrimination policy in our Code of Conduct and Ethics.
HTEC cares about the environment and sustainability
Our environment and sustainability pillar is focused on the environmental footprint we have and finding ways to reduce it. HTEC initiatives in this area include introducing recycling systems in our offices, engaging in tree-planting initiatives in multiple cities, and helping clean illegal landfills at local beaches, riverbanks, etc.
