Robert Clarkson is a seasoned executive with over two decades of leadership experience in payments, payment processing, and global revenue management. Renowned for building high-performing teams and driving transformative growth, Robert has played pivotal roles in preparing multiple companies for successful IPOs, including PayPal, Stripe, Payoneer, and NortonLifelock.
Recently serving as CRO Americas at Stripe, Robert led his team to represent 74% of the company’s revenue, helping drive Stripe’s valuation from $50 billion to $91.5 billion in just 18 months. His expertise spans scaling revenue models, developing consumer and commercial payment solutions, and accelerating growth across diverse markets.
Previously, as CRO at Payoneer, Robert oversaw global revenues and go-to-market strategies, achieving growth rates exceeding 30%. At NortonLifelock, he managed global distribution channels and a $310M advertising budget, tripling revenue growth in a single year.
Robert’s extensive background includes senior leadership roles at PayPal, where he was responsible for over 61% of global revenues, led major partnerships, and spearheaded new product development—including the launch of PayPal’s cryptocurrency team. His earlier career includes executive positions at American Express, GE Capital, and Citibank, where he earned recognition for outstanding results.
A graduate of the University of Vermont with a BS in Finance, Robert is Six Sigma Green Belt certified and serves as an advisor to Blackhawk Networks and several startups. He is also the past Chairman of the Phoenix Suns Charities. Robert and his family currently live in Scottsdale, Arizona.
