Steve Halverson is a seasoned executive and board advisor with deep experience in construction, infrastructure, and strategic governance. He served as Chairman and CEO of The Haskell Company, one of the largest integrated design-build firms in the U.S., where he led global operations across North America, Latin America, and Asia. During his two-decade tenure, Haskell significantly expanded its market presence and delivered major industrial, commercial, and energy projects for Fortune 500 clients.
He currently chairs the board of Gilbane, Inc., a $7 billion construction and real estate development firm, and serves as a director at CSX Corporation (NASDAQ: CSX), a leading freight rail company. He also sits on the board of GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation—the parent of Florida Blue – a $32 billion health solutions company.
Steve brings decades of expertise in scaling complex infrastructure, engineering, and construction businesses while guiding high-stakes strategy in heavily regulated, capital-intensive industries. He holds a J.D. from American University and completed executive programs at Dartmouth and Wharton.
Recognized for his industry leadership, Steve has chaired the Design-Build Institute of America and the Construction Industry Roundtable, where he continues to influence the future of infrastructure and engineering services in the U.S.
